Tamino

Tamino’s third album ‘Every Dawn’s a Mountain’ will be released on March 21st 2025, and follows Sahar (2022) and his debut Amir (2018). Primarily written in Tamino’s new home of New York City, ‘Every Dawn’s a Mountain’ marks a new beginning for an artist who already headlines arenas in most of Europe and the Middle East, and was recently invited to play at the Great Pyramid of Giza; whose songs and stories have stunned friends and fans like David Byrne, Lana Del Rey, Mitski and Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood.

Though Tamino was first inspired to learn guitar by his grandfather – famed Egyptian singer Muharram Fouad – the album’s arrangements are largely pillared by the sound of his Arabic oud. Tamino’s voice smoulders throughout, flaring from deep and sultry one moment to a flickering falsetto the next. “Using music to convey deeper messages is key to what Tamino does,” described The Guardian. “It’s led many to compare him to the late American singer Jeff Buckley, but with orchestral arrangements nodding to his Arab lineage.”
