Ásgeir is one of Iceland’s most successful musical exports, known for his introspective blend of folk and pop. His debut “Dýrð í dauðaþögn” became the best-selling debut album in Icelandic history, followed by the international breakthrough “In The Silence” (2014). Subsequent releases “Afterglow” (2017), “Bury The Moon” (2020) and “Time On My Hands” (2022) earned him global critical acclaim from outlets such as NME, MOJO, BBC 6 Music and The Independent. In recent years he has focused on intimate solo performances across Europe and the Nordics, collaborated with orchestras and broadcasters, and continued to evolve as a songwriter. He recently finished working on a new album “Julia” centered on melody-driven, personal storytelling, exploring themes of relationships, aging, hope and nostalgia. The album will be released on February 13th, 2026.
